Baby it's COLD outside!

We were sitting pretty just a few days before Christmas in 74 degree weather just wishing for a white Chirstmas and BAM! Out of nowhere it snowed! (It's really no wonder we're all sick.)

(Please excuse my one dead plant. Nothing stays alive in that planter - I'm certain it's haunted.) Aden completely enjoyed all the snow though, and kept running to the window to make sure it was still there.

He got a few chances to scrape some snow off the car and toss it at his daddy too, which is pretty much every boys dream. Here's a alittle shot I took from inside the frosted window, so sorry for the blurriness.

And later that night, it was still snowing! We got nearly a half inch, which is unheard of in Texas really.

It was a White Christmas after all!

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!

After some minor photo uploading issues, I've finally gotten my photos to correctly upload, so Christmas pictures will be coming SOON! But until then, I wanted to share on here a little Christmas Cheer from Aden.

A few weeks ago as I was making my shopping list, Aden decided to make one himself. He started reciting what he wanted to buy people for Christmas and it was so adorable that I wrote it down. Let me just say, Aden certainly can be incredibly generous with make-believe money!

Lindsey - a new computer

Josh - a black bike

Bailey - a golf club

Ethan - a brown dog (because Aden was getting a blue one)

Lola - a 4-wheeler (yee haw Lola!)

Papa - a green robot truck

Daddy - a new couch (I admit, this made me laugh)

Mommy - a Batman car

Grandma - a pretty lamp

Mia - a new, green ball

Gigi - a yellow apple

So if you made the short list.... enjoy your dream gift from Aden!

Christmas Parade

Over the weekend, we went to the Arlington Christmas Light Parade. What a fun time! The kids were mesmorized by the lights and music. Even Ethan was completely drawn in.

All the floats were amazing, and really made us want to enter our own float/lit car next year.

One thing Aden keeps talking about is seeing all the kids who walked in the parade while covered in lights.

Which one is the REAL Santa?

After the parade, we enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies, and then saw Santa light the gigantic tree downtown!

Because it was so cute, here's a very short clip of how much Ethan was into this parade...

Thanksgiving!

(Mia, Darla, Aden, Becky, Bailey)

What a wonderful holiday! We were so blessed to have Jeff, Marilyn, Darla and Becky come down from Ohio to visit, and Paul and Brenda came down from Arkansas. It is so wonderful to be surrounded by family at Thanksgiving. We did some shopping, went to Six Flags, saw the ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord Texan and all kinds of other things. Here are a handful of the hundreds of photos I took from the week.

We miss you guys! Come back again soon!

Dinner Conversation

"So Aden, what did you do at school today?"

"I played with Grace and we built towers."

"Out of blocks?"

"Yes."

"Wow! That sounds fun!"

"Not really, Grace is mean."

Where is Jesus?

Driving to Gigi's the other day, Aden asked, "Where is Jesus?" Hmmm... I can see this is an excellent teaching opportunity, but how do you answer a question like that to a three-year old? I mean, honestly that's a pretty deep question with an even deeper answer. I started with, "He's in heaven babe. Way up in the clouds. And it's beautiful there."

"But I don't SEE Him." Of course my logical thinker would say that. "You can't see Jesus, He's everywhere. But you can FEEL Him. He's always here watching us, making sure we're okay."

For the next few minutes, Aden started pointing out clouds that he thought were Jesus' particular cloud and I agreed that they might be the ones that led to heaven. Then a quiet moment went by. And in the tiniest, sweetest little voice you could imagine, Aden looked to the sky and whispered, "I'm okay."
