I tried.

Last night, I tried to get Aden interested in a different movie. He has been asking for Nemo for a couple days now and I've been putting it off. Mostly because I can repeat the entire movie to him, line by line. But he didn't care for any other movies. Not even Cars. ("No likey Cars"). So Nemo won this battle.

My Squishy

He's such a cute sleeper. I love how he's cuddling one of his blankets. I just want to scoop him up and cover him with kisses.

I think I'm getting the hang of this.

Maybe this "no A/C" thing isn't so bad. See my happy face? That's because I've come up with a TOP TEN list of reasons why having no A/C in my car during the month of August in Texas may not be so bad.

10. I'm in tune with nature now.
9. The dirt that flies in the car at 150 miles an hour is sandblasting my face into a nicer complextion.
8. I can share my music with others on the road.
7. Saves time when I have to yell at bad drivers since I no longer have to wait until the window is rolled down.
6. No one asks me to drive anymore.
5. I'm finally using my sunroof during the summer.
4. Saving tons on gas money!
3. The windblown look is still "in."
2. I'm not cold.
1. I can make hand waves in the air while I drive.

Aden Gets Sad Too

Contrary to what you might think from all the happy-fun-jolly pictures you see, Aden does throw some mean tantrums. Not too often, but latley he's been throwing them more frequently. Here's an awesome one from last night. He got a real treat - daddy gave him a piece of chocolate! And boy was it good! But then I tried to give him a bath afterwards and he wanted more chocolate. NO BATH! NO CLOTHES OFF!

On the floor, throwing a fit...

In the bathroom, still throwing a fit...

In the bathtub, not giving in....

Hotsville

We interupt this regularly all-Aden information to bring you an announcement. It's HOT in Texas. Yesterday, it got up to 105 degrees. And the air conditioning in my car just fizzled. It still blows, but it's hot air. Which does me no good in this heat. Here's me, driving home in traffic, in a jam, going about 5 miles-per-hour and very hot. Look how sad I am!

Dallas Children's Museum

Aden and I met a friend and her son at the Dallas Children's Museum on Saturday. It's a really fun place! And a nice way to beat the heat right now. Aden really enjoyed himself. Here are some photos from that. (For the first 20 minutes or so, Aden refused to take off his sunglasses).

Nemo

Most watched show in the Elwell Household....

We are fans. And by "we," I mean Aden is, and I am by default.

Teaching Bear to Throw a Ball

This was too cute not to share. Aden was in the bath and just started teaching his bear how to throw a ball. You can hear him say, "Bear... want to throw the ball?" And then he teaches him about using "two hands" and "Throw!"

Of course then he just throws the bear. But until then it's a sweet moment!

Finally - a "CHEESE"

I tried again last night and this is what I got....

No Cheese Here

I just can't get this little guy to look at the camera and smile! This is what I get when I say, "Aden! Say CHEESE!"

Whoa!

As I sat here just a few minutes ago in the playroom by Aden, he counted backwards from five. I am still amazed!

Just had to put that out here on the blog. Wish I had caught that on video.

Rocking out on the microphone

"All aboard the Choo Choo Train!"

Aden got a haircut

BEFORE the haircut... we had to test just how long his hair was.
ha.

He wasn't very happy at all about the haircut (because he passed a train table in the lobby and wanted to do that instead).

But the lady put a Thomas the Tank cartoon in and he was fine after that.

Big boy - big boy haircut! It seems so short!
