These are a little old, but I didn't want to leave them off the blog. We all really enjoyed actually having snow in Texas recently, and it even stuck around longer than an hour! Here are a few pictures of Daddy and Aden's snowman. (With golf club hands... of course).

Ethan's Baptism
I've been absent here! I'm blaming this unforgiving stomach bug that has run it's course through our home this past week. It's a take-no-prisoners kind of illness and we have not been having fun. But I do have some things to blog about! Namely, Ethan's baptism.
When Aden was a little over 1, he was baptised at the Holy Family Catholic Church by Deacon Joe and I wanted to have the same ceremony for Ethan. Luckily, Deacon Joe had some time free on Valentine's Day. Sweet!
Ethan looked adorable in his white cable-knit outfit. I just couldn't stop hugging him. I was so glad that so many people were able to come out for the baptism.
Including so many of his cousins! Ethan loves his cousins.
Here he is with his arm around Mia. He's just daring any boys to try to flirt with his cousin. Ha ha!
Thank you Holy Family and Deacon Joe for such a wonderful ceremony!
And thank you to Ethan's Godparents (Channing on left, Lindsey on right). I know he's in good hands with two spiritual mentors like you!
Another great picture moment - all my mom's grandchildren in the same room at one time.
Aden looked so handsome in his tie. I just can't get enough of this sweet face.

SNOW DAY!!
We had a BLAST today! Everyone at the office left work early due to hazardous road conditions, so I swung by and picked up my boys and we had a snow day! Ethan napped for the first part, so Aden and the nursery monitor and I bundled up and went outside. We made a little snowman, snow angels, snow balls, etc. Aden absolutely loved it. I could barely drag him back in the house.
Once Ethan woke up, I bundled him up to play too. He was not a fan of touching snow (too cold and wet), but he grinned from ear to ear just watching it fall and really enjoyed it once we made a makeshift sled. We ended the fun with a warm bath for the boys and hot chocolate for Aden. So fun!
Here are some photos of the day - who knows when we'll have the opportunity to play in snow again?

How about some Ethan?
This little guys personality is really coming out lately, and I love it. Ethan is so full of life. He is a ball of extremes... big smiles, big laughs, big shrieks, big attitude and big love.
The boys and I watched the superbowl together - a tradition of Aden and I that we shared with Ethan for his first big game. Of course no superbowl is complete without snacks and Ethan got to indulge in a biter biscuit, some yogurt puffs and an Ethan-sized handful of peach flavored puffs. It. Was. Awesome.
He fits into our family perfectly.

The heart and soul of our home
One of the things I love most about Aden is his huge heart. He loves like no one I've ever met. He is so caring with people and if he ever thinks Adam or I are upset with him, you can almost hear his little heart break. He is a June baby, so he's generally either the oldest or the youngest in his daycare classes. The older kids move to the next room first and the young kids come in his class before he moves. So many of the teachers tell me that he is always the one who shows the "new kids" where the toys are and is the first to run to them when one falls down. When he was in the potty training room, he'd ask the little ones if they needed to go potty, and would take them by the hand to the restroom. At both church and school, he's often called the teachers helper.
Because I know this about him, it didn't surprise me at all to hear about Nooria (pronounced "NOO-dee-uh"). She's a tiny little girl in his class who I guess is kind of new. Usually, Adam takes the boys to school in the mornings and I pick them up. Last week, I had the opportunity to sleep in for just a bit so I took the boys to school a little later than they usually go. When we got to the door, there was this little wild eyed girl just standing there, waiting. As soon as she saw Aden, she grabbed his hand and they walked off. The teacher said, "Oh Aden... she's been waiting for you!" I thought - how cute! A couple days later as I was picking him up, I saw Nooria's mom at the door with her, saying, "Say bye to Aden Nooria!" So I asked the teacher about it. She said Nooria was having a hard time when her mom left each morning. Crying inconsolably. The teachers found it difficult to soothe her for the first little while each day. So Aden went over and put his arm around her and said, "It's okay, we'll play and have fun!" and now she's attached herself to him and they are friends. (Everyday after school I ask what he did that day and he says, "Played with Nooria!" He likes her too!) So this makes sense why she was upset when she got there that one morning and Aden wasn't there yet.
Anyway, this is one of hundreds of examples of how deeply Aden cares for people. I am so proud of him and his loving soul. I hope he never loses that. Mean people will show themselves to him and I'm sure his heart will break many more times. I just hope that despite all that, he will always keep that giant heart he has.
