Aren't they cute?

(Making the motions to Little Einsteins)

If you haven't checked in here in a few days, keep scrolling. I've added several new blog posts. More to come!

Celebrate Freedom - Parade!

I was pretty determined that Ethan would get some time to celebrate the Fourth of July, so we packed up with Lola and Lindsey and drove to the parade. Lola brought donuts and we got a great seat.

Or so we thought.

About 20 minutes into it, the sun came out of it's hiding spot and shone on us like a death ray. It was SO hot!

("When's the parade starting?")

We did catch the first half of the parade though, and Ethan was thrilled about the horses. Anytime there was a horse-lag, he'd sign "more" and say, "More horses? More horses?" Aden was completely grossed out by the horses though, as the aroma of a horse and 105 degree heat don't exactly mix well.

We made it through half and then Aden saved us the trouble of parade traffic by insisting that we go ahead and cut out early. So we did.

See you next year, horses.

Light Up Arlington

Sunday night (July 3) was Light Up Arlington night - complete with bounce houses, concessions and live entertainment. We met Lola, Papa and Lindsey for a quick bite at Rio Mambo, then headed home to prepare for a late night.

Ethan had been acting sleepy and down all day, just over tired and not himself, so we decided to let him stay home from the event. Sadness... I really wanted to let him see a great fireworks show. But Aden, mom and I went downtown and got some great seats right by the front of the stage. We watched some live music, then had a wonderful fireworks show right over us. It was fabulous! Aden enjoyed it and we kept trying to pick out our favorite type of firework. I liked the sprays of gold and Aden liked the rainbow shooters.

Taking the plunge

Oh my sweet little fishies, they are really making strides this season! Not only has Aden jumped into a tube off a boat without any sort of resistance, discovered the joy of a great cannonball and taught himself how to swim under water in a lazy river - - this past weekend he overcame his fear of jumping off a diving board!

It took him only a handful of minutes to decide to try it. And once he did, that was ALL he did. Over and over, and with more flair each time. I'm so proud of this kid!

(FIRST JUMP OFF BOARD)

Ethan watched Aden jump a few times and saw how much applause he was getting (and if there's anything Ethan likes, it's applause) so he tried too - and decided he liked jumping into the water very much.

Got the fever... yes Wii do!

Both boys have been enjoying the Wii. (More accurately.. ALL THREE boys have!)

The Happy Birthday Post (Part 2)

Once the food and presents were over, we took the party outside where I had intended the kids be able to run through my fancy sprinklers, but they found other fun. I filled some buckets with water, thinking they could play with boats and such in them like water tables, But the kids turned them into tiny, private pools and had the biggest time.
