First Hurricane Harbor trip of 2010

We had the absolute pleasure of taking the boys to the water park on a nice, summer day. They had a blast! Hurricane Harbor has tons of places for little kids to play and we really enjoyed being together.

At first, Ethan wasn't so sure about the water. It was chilly. He didn't want to get out, but he certainly clung to us with a death grip. That lasted about 5 minutes before he was ALL about the water.

Aden, of course, didn't need any warming up time. He hit the water and never looked back.

It was really nice for Ethan to have so many places to go that were his size. He even felt comfortable enough to walk on his own in the water, which really amazed us!

Both boys loved the water slides. I wish I could have captured one of Ethans wide grins on camera, he went down the slides giggling.

We'll be back for sure!

Afterwards, the boys were completely wiped out.

Going.... going....

Gone....

Really wiped out.

The weather outside is frightful

It's full Texas summer hot around here and we've found ourselves inside more often than outside nowdays. Couple 90 to 100 degree weather with out of control humidity and we are loving our air conditioning right now. And.... ice cream parlors!

The boys play together really well about half the time, and then the other half they are pushing each other out of the way of "the" toy in the spotlight at the moment. Which really only has to be whatever one or the other is playing with at the time. But as soon as one isn't in the room, the other is worried about when they'll be together again. It's adorable to see Ethan looking all over the room saying, "Inden? Inden??"

We even worked on a little art project for Grandma Kathryn...

And Ethan is continuing to enjoy tasting new foods, including the below lunch of pb&j, french fries and cherries. He is such a great eater!

And Aden and I found a clip for E's hair...

My ears are ringing

Ethan is a screamer. Not a "normal" screaming baby, like you might expect from a child who is old enough to have opinions but too young to tell you about them. He uses high pitched, squealing, ear-piercing screams as tantrums. Or as requests, as in, "Can I have another bite?" Or as in conversation, as in, "Want to come pick me up and cuddle?" Or of course, as in tattling, as in, "Aden just took my Hot Wheels."

I can't break him of this either. I suppose I should just wait it out and patiently teach him words to replace the screams, like please, bite, up and jerkhead. But I have to admit these screams are trying my last nerve, and the ringing continues for several long minutes after each scream.

Also, I'm starting to wonder if the neighbors are contemplating calling CPS.

I'll leave this post with something nice - pictures of Ethan's first time eating a spaghetti meal! It was a major hit.

A few from Memorial Day

Ethan sleeping and eating - what a life!

I had to share a few pictures of Ethan sleeping and eating. Sleeping, because he is so adorable when he's asleep with his arms wrapped around Punky, and eating, because he's really been trying all kinds of new foods lately.

When I put Ethan down in his crib for a nap, he lifts his arm for me to slide Punky under. Then he goes right to sleep (99% of the time. Sometimes he lays in bed and chats to himself for a few minutes first, like he's doing as I type right now.)

(Oops, I think I woke him up with all my picture taking...)

One thing is for sure, Ethan does not like blueberries. He tried one, spit it out and then looked at me with the Stink Eye and started bawling. I thought all babies liked blueberries?

He does like watermelon, strawberries, bananas, apples and oranges though. So far, I think those are all of the fruits we've tried.

Guess what part of his diet is going away in three weeks?

Starting this week, we are slowly reducing the amount of formula Ethan is drinking. When he has his first birthday, we'll be switching him to whole milk - like some sort of big boy. Amazing. How did he get so big?
