We had a really fun 4th of July. I forgot my camera battery for the party, so I don't have pictures of that, but we went to a friend of ours home and grilled and played games and the kids swam. Aden had a blast. So much so that at 8:30pm, a half hour before the fireworks show, he said he was ready to go home and go to sleep. Both kids were curling up on a little couch actually and trying to cover themselves so we declared it a night.
Adam and I were bummed that we didn't get to see a fireworks show this year, but we realized the kids just aren't old enough to party all day and then stay up through a night time show. But of course as soon as we got in the car and drove off, Aden realized what he would be missing and started to whine the whole way home about wanting to see fireworks. So we finally pulled off and bought a few of what was left at a stand and did some fireworks in our driveway before the kids went to bed. Both of them enjoyed it, even though it was a few sparklers and two cone sprays. And we were happy that we got to see something this year too.
Here's Ethan and his very first sparkler
You can tell which of our children is the daredevil, and which is not. (Note: Not the child who is a safe 5 feet from any lit sparkler)
Ethan wanted everything to do with the sparklers. See Adam holding him back?
(That's a mosqito repellant fan on Ethans pants)
Aden says, a good fire cracker is an unlit fire cracker.
And here are MY little fire crackers!
Aden tried to talk us into a few more minutes with his Streetz. This kid was out before his head hit the pillow.
